Homebound Instruction
Students enrolled in the Franklin Public School District may be eligible to receive homebound instruction if they are unable to attend school for over thirty (30) continuous calendar days due to a physical or emotional condition. A licensed physician must provide a specific diagnosis and description of the student’s condition, a statement on the anticipated time the student is not able to attend school, and the expected date of return to school.
APPLICATION PROCESS & NEXT STEPS
Please note that if you choose to engage in homebound instruction, your opportunities for exploratory classes may be limited as homebound instruction focuses on the core academics (math, literacy, science, social studies).
Following the submission of the application, which you can start by clicking the button below, you will receive an email with a PDF document to be completed by a physician and then returned to the district.
Once the application is reviewed and the need for Homebound Instruction is approved, a district case manager will contact the parents regarding next steps and convene a Homebound Instructional team to develop an instructional plan. During this time of COVID-19, Homebound Instruction (in almost all cases) will be virtual. Your Homebound Instruction case manager will go over all details with you during initial contact.
