Back-To-School Online Check-In Coming Mon 6/29

Dear Franklin Public Schools Families,

Back-to-School Online Check-in (BTSOC) opens next Monday, June 29th.

All families will receive an email from “PowerSchool Enrollment” on Monday, June 29th. This check-in is required for all families to confirm your child(ren) will be attending Franklin Public Schools in August. Please complete the BTSOC by the end of the day, Sunday, July 19th, 2026.

Expectations & Updated Board Policies
As part of the BTSOC process, please note the following policy changes, updates and requirements:

  1. In accordance with Board Policy 7540.03, “all students and parents of minors must acknowledge compliance with the Student Technology Acceptable Use and Safety Agreement” by electronically signing the agreements as part of BTSOC.  District-issued devices or access to student Google accounts will not be released until this has been completed. Students may not bring technology resources or other electronic equipment (ex. personal laptops or ipads) to school.  See Board Policy 5136.01.  The District will supply any needed technology resources or other electronic equipment.  All schools will continue the practice of “no cell bell-to-bell” (see Board Policy 5136 and Wisconsin Act 42). Additionally, we have the proactive addition of Yondr pouches at FHS and the continued use of Yondr pouches at FPMS to store student personal communication devices during the entirety of the school day. 
  2. Student/Family Handbook: Sign-off is required for both students and parents. Please review the updated 2026-27 handbook linked within BTSOC.
  3. FHS Parking (Board Policy 5515): Families registering for a year-long or semester 1 parking pass during BTSOC will be assigned an August pickup time (first-come, first served) starting Monday, August 10th. To receive a pass, students must present a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. Students will select a parking lot of choice and spots will be randomly assigned based on grade-level availability. One redraw is available for a $5 fee. Note: Parking passes will not be issued if school fees are unpaid or detentions remain unserved. Passes must be picked up by the student or their PowerSchool-listed parent/guardian. Also per Board Policy 5515, motorized scooters/minibikes are not permitted on District property.
  4. FHS Lockers: 9th graders and new-to-District FHS students will be assigned a locker only if they opt-in during BTSOC.


Preparation & Resources
We have created a Parent Checklist to assist you with the 2026-27 check-in process. Highlights include:

  • Transportation: Please review the transportation updates we sent all families in late March so you are aware of updates and changes for the 2026-27 school year. 
  • PowerSchool Access: Log in to PowerSchool to update emergency contacts, medical info, and transportation needs. Use the ‘forgot password’ link if needed.  
  • Fees & Lunch: School fees can be paid after check-in. Visit our Lunch Page for SchoolCafe information.

School Start Information
School begins the week of August 24th:

  • Monday, August 24th: First day for grades 4K–6 and 9th grade (FHS).
  • Tuesday, August 25th: First day for grades 7–8 and 10–12.
