FALL SPORTS MEETING - Anyone interested in participating in a Fall Sport MUST attend a

BOYS GOLF - The Franklin High School Boys Golf Team became Southeast Conference

Champions Thursday for the first time since 2000! Going into the Conference Tournament

in a 3-way tie for first with Racine Case and Kenosha Bradford, the Sabers grabbed the bull

by the horns by taking first place with a team score of 334! Leading the way and shooting

a new 18-hole school record was senior Sean Sanguansap who fired an even-par score of

71 at Meadowbrook CC in Racine. Sean's spectacular round included 6 birdies! Way to

end your high school conference career on an unbelievable note! Following up Sean's

score was Matt Schauer who's 86 included a great back nine of 40. Sam Rivedal shot 88,

Sam Janicek 89, and Alex Simonson 91. All the hard work and dedication paid off

gentlemen! Great conference season! The Boys Golf Team will now head to the WIAA

Regional on Tuesday at Oakwood. Top 4 teams advance to Sectionals.

FRESHMEN BOYS GOLF - The Freshmen Boys Golf Team won the conference championship

and tournament Friday at South Hills. Mitch Ott was medalist with a 76, Andrew Niemiec

came in with an 85, Tyler Johnson and Tony Delavari added 92’s. Also helping in the

team’s undefeated season were Nate Kappes, Dillon Gulczynski, and Rayce Ruffing.

JUNIOR PARKING - Any junior wishing to park for free when the seniors are gone MUST go

to the Office, door #2, for a permission slip and to sign up. Anyone parking who did not

sign up will be ticketed.

GIRLS TRACK - All Girls Track athletes who finished their season last evening: please return

all uniform materials to the track area after school sometime before the end of next week.

BOYS TENNIS - The Boys Tennis Team won the SEC Conference last night with 71 points.

The three conference champions were: 1st doubles - Eric Bauer/Austin Bohn, 3rd doubles -

Brandon Klein/Paul Rasmussen and 4th singles - Alex Henry. Second place finishers were:

1st singles - Manny Gumina, 3rd singles - Eric Vonderwell and 2nd doubles - Matt Brandes

and Ryan Larson. 2nd singles - Jack Gumina finished 3rd. Congratulations to the entire

team and to the JV Conference team for winning conference as well!

GIRLS TRACK - Congratulations to the Franklin Girls Track Team, who won the JV

conference meet with a school record total of 231 points. First place finishers were Katrina

Voge, Lindsey Coakley, Melanie Hanson, Nala Mudd, the 4 by 800 relay team, Katie Powers,

and Jamie Mercado.

JV1 SOFTBALL - The JV1 Softball team defeated Racine Case 12-1 to finish the season

undefeated in the Southeast Conference. The Sabers stayed classy and determined all

season en route to a truly memorable season. Congratulations!

FRESHMEN SOFTBALL - The Freshmen Team ended their great season by mauling Muskego

31 to 0. The Saber hit parade was lead by Megan Krueger, Julia Steffes and Marissa

Kossiski. Coach Gridley wishes to thank all the fantastic freshmen for their awesome

season, best in school history. The word is out around Wisconsin, look out for Franklin

Softball in the next few years!

UWM DISCOVERY CAMP - Attention students interested in a Discovery Camp at UWM.

Discovery Camp will provide high school students age 14-17 with the opportunity to

sample college life, while learning more about UWM. Students will live on campus as they

strengthen leadership skills, build their confidence and resumes, and more. See Student

Services for more information.

NHS - All newly inducted NHS members should see Mr. Nettesheim as soon as possible to

pick up their certificates and pins.

#3, to pick up your copy.

HOLLYWOOD TALENT SHOW - Hollywood Talent Show tickets are on sale at lunch and in

the Office, door number 3. The show is on Friday, May 17th, at 7:30 in the MPR. This years

talent is better than ever. It is going to be a tough decision. Last year's winner, Jamie

Mercado, will be defending her first place title from the amazing keyboards of Zach Konz,

Lindsay Frisch & Bailey Plewa, who by the way, plays blindfolded. Enjoy the great blues

melodies of The Charlie Philharmonic, the guitar stylings of Eli Smith, Jack Gumina, JJ Kaiser

and Marianne Xiong, the searing vocals of Ashley Smith, Anna Otto, Hailey Hentz and Noah

Cooper to name just a few. It's going to be great! Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the

door. Be there to support your friends!

JV BOYS GOLF - The JV Boys Golf Team placed second in the conference match on

Wednesday. Zach Bertram shot an 89, Cody Scherr a 90, Robbie Heimbruch a 93, and Ryan

Ruffing a 96. Congratulations on a fine season with only four losses.

JV1 SOFTBALL - The JV1 Softball Team defeated Kenosha Tremper 12-10 in five innings on

Wednesday. The Sabers were led by strong pitching, disciplined hitting, and a tenacious

defense. The team remains undefeated in conference play and looks to finish strong today

in the season finale against Racine Case. Way to go Sabers!

GIRLS TRACK & FIELD - It’s a Saber 3 peat..........

The Franklin Girls Track and Field Team won its third consecutive conference outdoor

championship and 4th in the past 5 years. The Sabers tallied 158 points, the highest

amount in a conference meet since 1999. Our individual champions: 4 by 800 relay:

Melanie Hansen, Monica Sweet, Katie Powers, and Andrea Gonzalez, 400 meter dash:

Melissa Pelkey. Conference runner ups: pole vault: Sierra Feldmeier,

4 by 400 relay: Andrea Gonzalez, Demi Yoder, Monica Sweet, and Nala Mudd. Triple Jump:

Melissa Kirchoff. Long Jump: Lindsey Coakley. 800 meter run: Jensen Ritzow. 400 meter

run: Katrina Voge.

JV1 SOFTBALL - The JV1 Softball Team defeated Kenosha Tremper 10-0 to remain

undefeated in conference play. Strong pitching and a determined defense led the way for

the Sabers as they broke the will of Trojans to break the game open in the 5th inning.

Great Job Sabers!

FRESHMEN BOYS GOLF - The Freshmen Boys Golf Team played well again and won their

Quad at Bristle Oaks Tuesday. Mitch Ott was medalist with an outstanding 39, Andrew

Niemiec shot a 48, Rayce Ruffing a 50, and Nate Kappes finished the scoring with a 52.

FRESHMEN SOFTBALL - The Freshmen Softball Team went to take on a undefeated, tough

team in Germantown, but were unable to get a break they needed, and lost an extra

inning heartbreaker 9 to 8, and on a cold, very windy nite, lost the other 3-0. Having great

days at the plate for the Sabers were Karissa Minster, Grace Fredrickson and Lexi Koval.

And making some outstanding defensive plays were Megan Hessil and Brianna Mosley. The

baby Sabers take on another good team today in Menominee Falls.

COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING - Attention Juniors: Cornell University’s College of Engineering is

offering two programs to students who show strong aptitude in calculus, physics,

chemistry, biology and computer science. The Engineering Diversity & Women in

Engineering Program will host a weekend program September 26-28

th for interested

DISTINGUISHED YOUNG WOMEN - Attention all Distinguished Young Women of Franklin

participants for 2014: The photo CDs from the program are in! If you haven’t received one

from Mrs. Umhoefer already, please stop by the band room to pick up your copy.

STUDENT FINES & FEES - All students are reminded to turn in their textbooks directly to

their teachers, sports equipment directly to their coaches, library books directly to the

library before the end of the school year or you WILL BE BILLED for them. Any Seniors

with outstanding fines & fees will not receive their diplomas until their financial

obligations are fulfilled.

FRANKLIN CIVIC CENTER DESIGNS - Congratulations go out to Emma Rybacki for having her

design chosen for the Franklin Civic Center celebration. Emma’s design will be printed on

t-shirts to be worn by the volunteers at the celebration. Becca Kames came in 2

nd and

Brianna Flasch came in 3

rd. Each will receive a cash award and walk in the 4th of July

Parade. Congratulations to all 3 winners!!

JV GIRLS SOCCER - The JV Girls Soccer Team won with a score of 2-0. The win was a team

effort against Racine Case with the two goals scored by Josi Krueger & Jackie Steeves.

BOYS GOLF - The Franklin High School Boys Golf Team left the Oakwood Park GC on

Tuesday as WIAA Regional Champions for the 3rd year in a row! Leading the way for the

Sabers and posting the two best scores out of everyone in the entire tournament were

seniors Sean Sanguansap and Alex Simonson who each shot 73 and 74 respectively. Sean's

score was highlighted by a 2-under par 34 on the back nine! Alex's round was equally solid

posting a 37 on each 9! Excellent scoring gentlemen! Rounding out the team scoring were

Matt Schauer and Sam Janicek who each fired 85's. Senior Joe Kossow had an excellent

back 9 of 40 on his way to an 87. Great job gentlemen! The Sabers will compete in the

WIAA Sectional on Tuesday, May 28th, at Brighton Dale GC.

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER - The Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeated Racine Case last night 2-1

to improve to 4-3 in conference play. The ladies finished the season with the first winning

conference record since joining the Southeast Conference over 15 years ago. Rachel Stein

led the charge scoring both goals and Jessie Bykowski had 10 saves in the net.

Congratulations ladies on an amazing conference season!!

anit-bullying at our school! Who was a bigger supporter of anti-bullying than Mr. Jewell?

have a Jewell Super Fan shirt yet? Well, stop by door number three to pick yours up. They

are $12 and the money goes to support the Jewell Scholarship. Honor a man who was all

about acceptance.

TALENT SHOW - The Hollywood Talent Show was a success raising money for both the

NHS's Cystic Fibrosis foundation and the TV Tech LA trip! In third place there was a tie &

$50 was split between Jamie Mercado & Noah Cooper singing Stay and the Charlie

Philharmonic performing St. James Infirmary. Second Place and $100 went to Eli Smith

performing an original piece called Hiakus. First place and $150 went to Zach Konz playing

Malaguena on the piano. Thanks to host Evan Watters, Robbie Heimbruch & Matt Gall for

keeping us laughing. Thanks to TV Tech Students and NHS for pulling it off without a

hitch. DVD copies of the show are on sale for $15 in TV Tech room 249. Stop by to order

your copy.

WOODMAN’S COMMERCIAL CONTEST - Thank you to everyone who voted in the

Woodman's commercial contest. The FHS commercial placed in the top five, however did

not win the first place. The commercial that did was a very standard commercial.

However, there is good news! Here's what the Woodman's people said in an email. "

When

the competition started there was no intent of awarding a second place, but we enjoyed your

commercial so much that we expanded the winning submissions and are awarding you a $1000

Woodman’s Gift Card - as well as air time on major cable networks. Your commercial will be

scheduled to air on Time Warner, Charter, and Comcast July 8

th through 14th"

PRACTICAL LAW - Reminder to all Practical Law students: we will be going on the field trip

to the Franklin Police department and lockup today so report directly to the main office

lobby during your hour, do NOT go to the classroom. Those students NOT attending will

BOYS GOLF - The Franklin High School Boys Golf Team became Southeast Conference

Champions Thursday for the first time since 2000! Going into the Conference Tournament

in a 3-way tie for first with Racine Case and Kenosha Bradford, the Sabers grabbed the bull

by the horns by taking first place with a team score of 334! Leading the way and shooting

a new 18-hole school record was senior Sean Sanguansap who fired an even-par score of

71 at Meadowbrook CC in Racine. Sean's spectacular round included 6 birdies! Way to

end your high school conference career on an unbelievable note! Following up Sean's

score was Matt Schauer who's 86 included a great back nine of 40. Sam Rivedal shot 88,

Sam Janicek 89, and Alex Simonson 91. All the hard work and dedication paid off

gentlemen! Great conference season! The Boys Golf Team will now head to the WIAA

Regional on Tuesday at Oakwood. Top 4 teams advance to Sectionals.

FRESHMEN BOYS GOLF - The Freshmen Boys Golf Team won the conference championship

and tournament Friday at South Hills. Mitch Ott was medalist with a 76, Andrew Niemiec

came in with an 85, Tyler Johnson and Tony Delavari added 92’s. Also helping in the

team’s undefeated season were Nate Kappes, Dillon Gulczynski, and Rayce Ruffing.

FRANKLIN CIVIC CENTER DESIGNS - Congratulations go out to Emma Rybacki for having her

design chosen for the Franklin Civic Center celebration. Emma’s design will be printed on

t-shirts to be worn by the volunteers at the celebration. Becca Kames came in 2

nd and

Brianna Flasch came in 3

rd. Each will receive a cash award and walk in the 4th of July

Parade. Congratulations to all 3 winners!!

BOYS TENNIS - Boys Tennis players moving on to the Sectional Finals are: Eric Bauer, Austin

JV GIRLS SOCCER - The JV Girls Soccer Team won with a score of 2-0. The win was a team

effort against Racine Case with the two goals scored by Josi Krueger & Jackie Steeves.

BOYS GOLF - The Franklin High School Boys Golf Team left the Oakwood Park GC on

Tuesday as WIAA Regional Champions for the 3rd year in a row! Leading the way for the

Sabers and posting the two best scores out of everyone in the entire tournament were

seniors Sean Sanguansap and Alex Simonson who each shot 73 and 74 respectively. Sean's

score was highlighted by a 2-under par 34 on the back nine! Alex's round was equally solid

posting a 37 on each 9! Excellent scoring gentlemen! Rounding out the team scoring were

Matt Schauer and Sam Janicek who each fired 85's. Senior Joe Kossow had an excellent

back 9 of 40 on his way to an 87. Great job gentlemen! The Sabers will compete in the

WIAA Sectional on Tuesday, May 28th, at Brighton Dale GC.

GIRLS VARSITY SOCCER - The Girls Varsity Soccer Team defeated Racine Case last night 2-1

to improve to 4-3 in conference play. The ladies finished the season with the first winning

conference record since joining the Southeast Conference over 15 years ago. Rachel Stein

led the charge scoring both goals and Jessie Bykowski had 10 saves in the net.

Congratulations ladies on an amazing conference season!!

TALENT SHOW - The Hollywood Talent Show was a success raising money for both the

NHS's Cystic Fibrosis foundation and the TV Tech LA trip! In third place there was a tie &

$50 was split between Jamie Mercado & Noah Cooper singing Stay and the Charlie

Philharmonic performing St. James Infirmary. Second Place and $100 went to Eli Smith

performing an original piece called Hiakus. First place and $150 went to Zach Konz playing

Malaguena on the piano. Thanks to host Evan Watters, Robbie Heimbruch & Matt Gall for

keeping us laughing. Thanks to TV Tech Students and NHS for pulling it off without a

hitch. DVD copies of the show are on sale for $15 in TV Tech room 249. Stop by to order

WOODMAN’S COMMERCIAL CONTEST - Thank you to everyone who voted in the

Woodman's commercial contest. The FHS commercial placed in the top five, however did

not win the first place. The commercial that did was a very standard commercial.

However, there is good news! Here's what the Woodman's people said in an email. "

When

the competition started there was no intent of awarding a second place, but we enjoyed your

commercial so much that we expanded the winning submissions and are awarding you a $1000

Woodman’s Gift Card - as well as air time on major cable networks. Your commercial will be
