Why Take Japanese

Franklin Public Schools Japanese language program has grown since its inception in 1985 into one of the largest and most famous programs in the state of Wisconsin. Students can enter the program as they enter seventh grade at Forest Park Middle School or at anytime during their studies at Franklin High School.  

Students can complete five years of Japanese language study while attending Franklin Public Schools. Many earn college credit for their studies when they take placement tests upon entering college. Franklin is proud of the numerous students who have gone on to use their knowledge of Japanese in their college and professional careers.

Japanese is a challenging language. However, the instructional approach at Franklin Public Schools encourages success for students at all levels of ability. Betwenn language instruction and the study of both modern and traditional culture, the study of Japanese has something to offer everyone.
