Letter Jacket Award Information

Freshman Award: Numerals of graduation year for the first time on a freshman sport or activity.  If participating in additional freshman sports or activities a pin is awarded.

JV Award:  Saber Head patch for the first time on a JV sport.  An athlete participating on additional JV sports receive a small-embroidered emblem for that sport and are placed under the saber patch.  Lamp of Knowledge patch is awarded for the first time on a

JV activity:  Participants in activities with additional JV awards receive a Lamp of Knowledge emblem which is placed under the Lamp of Knowledge patch.

Varsity Award: Varsity letter for the first time award in sports or activities  For every additional varsity sport or activity a chevron is awarded.

Captains:  Captains are awarded a star.

Four Year Letter Award:  Plaque for four year letter winners.

Letter Jacket Award Placement Information

Athletic Varsity Letter:  place on left side of jacket front.

Academic Varsity or JV Letter:  place on right side of jacket front.

Band Varsity or JV Letters:  place on right side of jacket front.

Saber Head:  place on right sleeve approximately 4 inches from top.

Lamp of Knowledge Patch:  place on right sleeve approximately 6 inches from top. 

Emblems:  place below the Saber head next to each other and should sem-circle the saber for sports.  (Place lamp of Knowledge emblems below Lamp of Knowledge patch.)

Numerals:  place on left sleeve approximately 2 inches from top of sleeve.

Chevrons:  place under numberals

Star:  place above numerals

Pins:  place above or below name on jacket
