Attention all students, sign up for a wonderful club that promotes friendships with people with disabilities and their regular ed friends.  Join Best Buddies!  We do some fantastic activities such as bowling, hayrides, Country Springs water parks, movies and shopping malls!

Best Buddies is an organization at Franklin High School that began to promote friendship between people with disabilities and their regular education peers. This international organization was founded by Anthony Kennedy Shriver and the focus is obtaining jobs and friends for people with disabilities through acceptance by all.

Best Buddies meets once a month and has pursued such fun activities as Country Springs Water Park, an autumn hay ride, the museum, a Wave game, a dance, Brewers games and bowling.  The friendship between peers has been meaningful and rewarding.

Our meetings are usually the first Monday of every month in Room 229, and our group activities are usually the last Monday of every month. For more information please visit the Best Buddies website at  www.bestbuddies.com.

Best Buddies Calendar 2011-12

October 26^th -   Harvest Fest 9-11am. Multipurpose Room FHS

November 7^th -   Meeting-Green Room-2:45-3:30-Making Thanksgiving Placemats

November 21^st -   Country Springs Water Park 2:30-6. A bus will take you there but

you must be picked up by parents for the way home.

December 5^th -   Best Buddies Holiday Party. 2:45-5:30. Bring games and a dish to pass.

Donate socks to the rescue mission.

December 12^th -   Roller Skating to be announced.

January 9th -   Meeting 2:45-3:30. Board games. Green Room. Bring a treat to pass.

January 25^th -   Movies and restaurant at the Budget

February 6^th -   Best Buddies Valentine’s Party until 3:30.

February 29^th -   Tie Dye shirts

March 5^th -   Meeting-Green Room 2:45-3:30 (Basketball?)

March -   Best Buddies Dance

April -   Meeting. 2:45-3:30. Egg hunt

April -   Talent Show in March or April to be confirmed.

May -   Meeting and Kickball. 2:45-3:30

May -   Brewers Game and Best Buddies walk to be confirmed.
