Goals and Standards
The hallmark of a quality curriculum is a set of well-defined challenging academic standards. Grade-level goals and standards for Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Computer Education are listed at the left. The standards specify what students should know and be able to do at the completion of each grade level or course. The standards are district-wide expectations for student learning.
The process of developing the standards has been a joint effort to prepare Franklin students for success now and in the future. During the past several years, educators, parents and community members have worked as equal partners in defining these district-wide academic standards. Success depends upon this partnership.
Franklin Public Schools is proud that they have developed consistent, challenging, learning expectations for all students. We are all determined to work together in providing students the opportunity to meet these challenges.
