FHS TV Students' Chicago Field Trip

The Advanced TV and The Saber Roar students travelled to Chicago to visit Northwestern University's Radio/TV/Film department. A film instructor explained the different kinds of degrees and education programs that are available to students after high school. The next stop was Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry where students visited the Mythbusters exhibit which highlighted props, costumes and experiments from the famous television show. After a quick stop at Navy Pier for dinner they were off to see a performance of the Blueman Group. The Blueman Group uses video as an integral part of their show using both live and taped segments to enhance their performances. Students came home with information on continuing their video careers and examples of how unique and creative ideas are what the world is looking for. A shows like Mythbusters and Blueman Group are possible because visual communications and a dedicated group of creative people.
