ACT - American College Test

  • ACT is the American College Test.
  • It is recommended students take the ACT in April and/or June of their junior year.
  • Should you take the optional writing test for ACT? Yes, if you are considering UW-Madison, Marquette University, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, or other universities that require the writing test. If, at a later date, students find out the university they are planning to attend requires the ACT writing test, they must retake the entire ACT, not just the writing test.

For more information on the Writing Test, visit http://www.act.org/aap/writing

  • Students may register Online or pick up registration packets in the Guidance Office.
  • It is recommended students register early in the junior year for the spring ACT test dates. Using this strategy, students will have a higher probability of being assigned to their preferred test center.
