The expectation is that students will participate in a meaningful activity during the semester exam period. This activity may be a traditional assessment, or it may involve other opportunities for students to demonstrate mastery of skills and/or opportunities for students to receive feedback. Whether the culminating activity consists of a traditional assessment, student presentations, debate, etc..., all teachers who teach a particular course must utilize the exam period and grade the activity in the same manner. Teachers are NOT expected to have a heavily weighted final exam, but may include one if desired by all teachers responsible for the course. Semester grades do not require a final exam grade and the grade for the culminating activity may be included in the quarter grade.
Semester 1 exams will be on January 20, 21, 22 and 23. Semester 2 exams will be on June 6, 9, 10 and 11 (note that seniors last day is Thursday, June 5th with exams prior to that date)
