OPEN ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS:

The online application for the 2013-14 school year is available February 4 to April 30, 2013 on the DPI Open Enrollment website (http://sms.dpi.wi.gov/sms_psctoc).  The application period closes at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 30th.  Late applications are not accepted.

The Franklin Public School District participates in the Wisconsin inter-district Open Enrollment program, which allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they reside. Wisconsin residents in grades Kindergarten through 12th may apply to participate in Open Enrollment.

If you are currently attending Franklin Public Schools through Open Enrollment, you do not need to reapply.  If you are currently attending Franklin Public Schools through Tuition Waiver, you must apply for Open Enrollment if you moved on or before February 4, 2013.

Parents are responsible for transporting their children to and from school. The Franklin Public School District does not require continuing Open Enrollment students to re-apply. For more information call (414) 525-7634 or visit the Department of Public Instruction website.

Time Line:
District to notify student of acceptance or denial into the District:  June 7, 2013

Parent notification to the District of Acceptance:  June 28, 2013 or ten (10) days from offer of open enrollment seat.

Accepting students from the established Waitlist was extended to September 19, 2013.  However, if the offer was accepted, the student must be in attendance on 3rd Friday (September 20, 2013)

The Board of Education approved 54 seats for Open Enrollment students for the 2013-14 school year.  The breakdown by grade level is below:

Grade KD ~ 20 spaces                               7th Grade ~ No spaces

1st Grade ~ No spaces                               8th Grade ~ No spaces

2nd Grade ~ No spaces                               9th Grade ~ 8 spaces

3rd Grade ~ 2 spaces                                  10th Grade ~ 7 spaces

4th Grade ~ 10 spaces                                11th Grade ~ 4 spaces

5th Grade ~ No spaces                               12th Grade ~ 3 spaces

6th Grade ~ No spaces

Franklin Public Schools does not offer a K4 program so therefore the district cannot accept any students in the K4 grade level.
