Student Handbook - Healthroom

If a student becomes ill or has a physical injury while at school, he/she may be sent to the Student Health Room. Upon arrival, their symptoms are assessed by the school secretary, Educational Assistant or parent volunteer. All have been trained by the Red Cross through the school district to provide basic care. Please consider volunteering, we can always use more help.

For illness, the student's temperature is taken and rest time is provided. If his / her temperature exceeds 99.9, we will contact a parent to send the student home. Parents are also notified when a student is not willing to return to his / her class after 15 minutes.

If a student has sustained an injury due to a fall, we will treat the injury by immobilizing it and applying ice, if the student expresses intense pain, a parent will be contacted. We do not hesitate to call the Franklin Fire Department Rescue Squad for seriously injured or ill students.

Please note: We attempt to be very observant of the physical well-being of your child(ren), however, we do rely on them to communicate their problems to us.
